Gen 1:1 – In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth

1] GOD IS GREAT

Isa 40:12, 22 – ¹²Who has scooped up the ocean in his two hands, or measured the sky between his thumb and little finger, Who has put all the earth’s dirt in one of his baskets, weighed each mountain and hill?…²²He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.

John 1:3 – Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made

Col 1:15-16 – Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see  and the things we can’t see – such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world.  Everything was created through him and for him.

Gen 1:3-4 – And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good…

2] CREATION IS GOOD

Gen 1:31 – God saw all that he had made, and it was very good

1 Tim 4:4 – For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving…

3] HUMAN BEINGS ARE PRECIOUS

Gen 1:27 – Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us…So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Psa 139:13-14 – For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made…

4] LIFE HAS MEANING & PURPOSE

Eph 1:11 – It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone [Msg]

Where have I come from? – God’s precious creation [origin]

Who am I? I am God’s child – his beloved possession [identity]

What am I doing here? I am fulfilling God’s mission on earth [purpose]

Where am I going? – I am destined for glory…his glory! [destiny]

Path to Fullness of Life – 4 Pillars:

• God is Great > WORSHIP
• Creation is good > WORK
• Human beings are precious – PEOPLE
• Life has meaning & purpose – LIFE
